Whether you're new to community engagement or ready to deepen your practice, The Engagement Essentials Intensive brings together two of our most popular courses into one powerful two-day training.

Over two full days, you’ll gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience to confidently plan, implement, and deliver authentic engagement that meets your legislative requirements, and creates real community impact. Combining the Introduction to Community Engagement for Council Officers and Techniques for Participation in Community Engagement, this two-day program is ideal for council staff ready to take engagement seriously, and do it well.

• What community engagement means in a local government context
• How to meet legislative obligations under Section 50 of the LG Act
• The IAP2 framework and community engagement spectrum
• How to develop and evaluate engagement plans
• How to choose the right participation techniques to suit your context
• Hands-on practice with techniques like Focused Conversations, World Café, and small group facilitation
• Considerations when engaging First Nations communities and people with disabilities
