Key Learnings

After this session you will have an understanding of the essentials relating to the new lodgement, assessment and determination regime for applications for development authorisation under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and associated procedural requirements of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure (General) Regulations 2017.
 

Facilitator

Gavin Leydon, Principal – Planning, Development and Environment – Norman Waterhouse Lawyers
Gavin leads the firm’s Environment and Planning team and is a specialist in property development, urban and regional planning, environmental and administrative law. Gavin has been extensively involved in planning system reform and the transition to the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act regime, including the provision of advice to State and local government, the LGA and training to the sector.

Joanna Clare, Senior Associate – Planning, Development and Environment – Norman Waterhouse Lawyers
Jo commenced practicing in planning and environmental law in 2011, and in this role, she advises council clients in all aspects of planning, building and environmental law under the Development Act 1993 andincreasingly the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016. Jo routinely presents training seminars on a range of topics, including planning reform, Section 7 searches and enforcement. 

The Norman Waterhouse Team is recognised as the largest of its kind in this State and is widely recognised as a leader in the provision of such advice to the local government sector in South Australia.
