Course Overview:
If you are a Council Customer Service Staff member who could be called upon to provide information to the public during emergencies during this year's bushfire season, this session is for you.
The "Council Customer Service Bushfire Awareness Workshop" is an interactive session designed to assist Council Customer Service staff understand local issues and information needs during the bushfire season.
The session will focus on information flow between service centres, community and CFS information sources and will include short mock bushfire scenarios to increase the level of understanding for local government staff of:
- Things that might happen when a fire impacts their community
- Decision making under stress
- The potential importance of service centres for information flow in an emergency, and
- The need to seek out information from a variety of sources
