With council elections just around the corner, governance has never been more critical and more complex. The 2025 LGA Governance Forum is your opportunity to stay ahead, sharpen your judgment, and strengthen your leadership, as we head towards the 2026 elections.
This year’s program focuses on the issues shaping our democratic future: election planning, key risks and opportunities, legislative changes, meeting procedures and your obligations during the caretaker period. You’ll hear directly from key agencies alongside sector peers and legal and governance experts.
Packed with practical updates, real-world scenarios, panel discussions and interactive sessions, this forum is designed for governance professionals who are ready to lead, not just comply. It’s for those who want clarity, confidence, and meaningful connection across the sector.
We begin with a timely address from the Minister for AI and the Digital Economy, reflecting on how councils can navigate the opportunities and risks of new technologies while protecting trust and participation. This will lead into a keynote on the impact of AI on electoral integrity and democratic resilience.
Join us to explore the future of governance and leave ready to guide your council through what lies ahead.
