This session provides a practical and accessible overview of council obligations under the Dog and Cat Management Act. Participants will explore the full range of council powers, including responsibilities for registration, identification, seizure and detention of animals, and enforcement actions. The session will also examine how to balance regulatory requirements with community expectations.

Paul Kelly is a Partner in the firm’s specialist Local Government Governance & Regulatory Services Team.
