Council staff involved in grants and funding applications, including Australian and State Government Grants and disaster funding.
Overview
This session is part 1 of a 2-part package. It covers the disaster and drought grants, sports grants and funding allocations of 2019 will be analysed and strategies for approaching funding opportunities in 2020 will be provided.

- The context of disaster funding; who is responsible, how it works and why;
- Information about where and how grant funding may be made available in 2020;
- An overview of how to start preparing your projects now so you are ready to apply for the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) and other funding opportunities in 2020.
Facilitator
Colin Steele is Managing Director of Section51. Prior to establishing Section51, Colin worked for 10 years in local government, 11 years in State Government and 10 years designing, assessing, managing and evaluating grant programs and disaster funding for the Australian Government.Section51 has been running as a consultancy for over 10 years and in that time, we have helped councils achieve funding for close to $400 million in community, infrastructure and environmental projects.
