Pathways to Sustainable Tourism

Delivery Options: Face to face

For: Elected Members new and continuing and council staff

Overview:
All levels of government in Australia list tourism as one of the key areas for economic development over the next four years.

Tourism is a fundamental economic driver for South Australian regions and metropolitan Adelaide. Local Government supports and facilitates regional tourism bodies to build and promote a diverse and sophisticated experience in their region.

This informative, interactive session will address the following questions:
- What is tourism and what is the Tourist Economy?
- Why is tourism important to a national, state local economy?

The session will also include presentations and input from SATC on sustainable tourism, SATIC on service excellence and DEWNR on heritage tourism.

For further information about holding tailored in-house sessions at your council or at a hub in your region, or for queries about program content please contact Liz O'Flynn at liz.oflynn@lga.sa.gov.au or on 8224 2044.
