This year the LGA Governance Forum will be held on Friday, 2 September 2016 at Local Government House, 148 Frome Street, Adelaide.
The Education & Training Service are also pleased to announce that on the afternoon prior to this event the LGA will host the Governance Officers Network meeting. We hope that by bringing these two important events together it offers Council Officers with governance responsibilities the opportunity to attend both events.
Further details about the Governance Officers Network meeting will be provided to members of the Network in the near future. For any queries regarding the Network meeting please contact Joy Rowett, Governance Coordinator, City of Salisbury on 8406 8329 or JRowett@salisbury.sa.gov.au.
Local Government plays a vital role in the Australian political system with good governance being vital to local democracy. The LGA Governance Forum is designed especially for Local Government Governance Officers and other officers working on governance matters within Councils. The objective of this Forum is to raise awareness and understanding of priority Local Government governance issues and best practice principles, and provide an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain professional development, hear from expert presenters and make valuable network connections.
