Overview
This session is designed to provide a positive reboot to refreshing elected member’s understanding of meeting procedures.
Supported by the session facilitators, participants will explore with other elected members their experiences of council meetings, and reinforce how the statutory meeting can be best applied in practice.

- Refresher on how the statutory procedures and legislative framework applies
- Revisit when and how to declare conflicts of interest
- Reconsider how you prepare for effective decision-making
- Recap on how to meaningfully participate in a council meeting
- Upholding council decisions post the meeting.

Rowena leads the delivery and continual improvement of the education and training offering to members. She has twenty years of senior leadership experience in the local government sector, including supporting Mayors and Elected Members across governance and leadership.
As a qualified executive coach with the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL) she also brings a unique combination of skills to support Elected Members in their leadership effectiveness.
