Forum Overview:
The roles of a council Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant and Senior Administration Officer have evolved from traditional ‘duties’ and ‘task’ orientated positions into engaging business partnerships. This means there is a greater challenge and need for council Executive and Personal Assistant’s and Senior Administration Officers to grow their existing skills, develop new skills especially in leadership, and expand their knowledge and understanding of the sector.
‘Refresh 2019’ is designed to celebrate the continuous evolution of the roles of council Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants and Senior Administration Officers.

The program will include informative ‘need-to-know’ information that will assist participants in their roles, especially after last year’s council election. Jacqui Kelleher, Manager Executive Services, LGA, will give an LGA update and Lisa Teburea, Executive Director, Public Affairs, LGA, will give an overview of the LGA's Strategic Direction.
The keynote speaker for this program is Moira Jenkins, Mayor of Victor Harbor Council. Moira will tell her inspirational story and discuss what drives her passion for the Local Government Sector.
The program will also include an afternoon leadership workshop that will reflect the themes being currently rolled out in the Elected Member Leadership Development Program. Themes explored include; growing skills that build professional working relationships, understanding team dynamics and working with communities to make a positive difference. This interactive session will be facilitated by Rowena McLean, Director Sector Development, LGA and James Koch from Human Capital International. An agenda of the day's proceedings will be available on the day.
