Do you have financial risk and/or asset management responsibilities in your council? If so, this session will assist you to understand how climate risk will impact financial sustainability and asset management and how these risks can be minimised. 

Overview:
This session will focus on the benefits to councils of considering climate risks when discharging financial management obligations and managing assets. The session will be based on the information contained in the LGA’s ‘Climate Risk Management:  A guide for local government financial and asset in South Australia’ and ‘Climate Risk Management: A guide for local government engineers and asset managers in South Australia’.  These documents will be made available to you prior to the session. The training session will provide guidance on what the changing climate means for councils, council’s responsibilities, the benefits of managing climate risks, and how sustainable financial and asset management can be supported and promoted in the face of increasing climate risks.
